The number of treatments varies depending on your tattoo's size, colours, age, ink density and location. Most professional tattoos require approximately 8–12 sessions for complete removal, with treatments spaced at least 8 weeks apart. During your consultation, we'll assess your tattoo and provide a personalised treatment plan and estimated number of sessions.
Most clients describe the sensation as similar to a rubber band snapping against the skin. While some discomfort is expected, treatments are relatively quick and well tolerated. At ERA Tattoo Removal, we use advanced cooling throughout your treatment to maximise comfort.
Immediately after your laser tattoo removal treatment, it's normal to experience redness, mild swelling and a warm sensation in the treated area. Some clients may also develop small blisters over the following 24–72 hours, while others experience very little skin reaction. Both responses are completely normal.

Your tattoo may appear slightly darker at first before gradually beginning to fade over the following weeks as your body's immune system clears the fragmented ink. Most clients can return to their normal daily activities straight after treatment; however, it's important to follow your aftercare instructions, avoid picking at the area, and protect it from sun exposure while it heals.

Remember, laser tattoo removal is a gradual process. Results continue to develop for weeks after each session, which is why we recommend allowing a minimum of 8 weeks between treatments.
